Maltese software company eCabs Technologies has integrated Revolut Pay into its car service platform, offering operators a way to cut payment processing costs by up to 60%.

The integration combines Revolut's payment infrastructure with eCabs Technologies' experience in running taxi services. The two companies developed it jointly to meet the settlement, reconciliation, and multi-currency demands of ride-hailing businesses.

“Our clients will feel this on day one: faster settlement, clearer numbers, lower fees.”

Revolut serves more than 80 million retail customers and 850,000 business customers globally. In Malta alone, the fintech platform has nearly 400,000 customers.

Taxi Fiume, an eCabs Technologies City Partner in Croatia, has already adopted the system. Bulgarian operator Volt is expected to follow.

eCabs Technologies CEO Matthew Bezzina said the move brings together the company's industry knowledge with Revolut's payment systems to offer a more cost-effective option.

“We believe we have built something unique here: pairing eCabs Technologies’ hands-on knowledge of the ride-hailing and taxi industry, with Revolut’s advanced payments systems,”

Operators switching to Revolut could save up to 60% on payment processing compared with their current providers, according to eCabs Technologies. The company said the savings directly reduce operators' processing costs.

Revolut joins a range of payment service providers already available on the platform, including Adyen, Fiserv, and Mercado Pago.

The integration gives operators real-time visibility of payments through dashboards on the Revolut Business app. They can monitor settlements, transaction volumes, and reconciliation.

Funds settle within 24 hours, including weekends. The platform supports settlements in more than 30 currencies, which the companies said could improve cash flow and cut currency conversion costs for operators handling cross-border transactions.

“Our clients will feel this on day one: faster settlement, clearer numbers, lower fees,”

“They are looking at up to 60%less on processing, and their money in the bank within 24 hours, weekends included,”

Bezzina expects more operators to adopt the service as they compare its costs with those of existing providers.

eCabs Technologies develops the software behind the eCabs platform, including dispatch technology, passenger and driver applications, fleet management, and reporting systems. The platform is used by eCabs in Malta and by partner operators in cities internationally.

The company said its platform is active in 12 cities across 11 countries, processing more than 400,000 ride requests daily.

For Malta's business community, the integration signals a shift in how local tech firms can leverage global fintech infrastructure to drive operational efficiency. The potential 60% reduction in processing costs directly improves margins for ride-hailing operators, a sector where thin margins are the norm. It also positions eCabs Technologies as a platform that can offer competitive advantages to its international partners, strengthening its value proposition beyond Malta.
