APS Bank Extends Buy-Back Run With 32,117 Shares in Weekly Tally

APS Bank bought back 32,117 shares last week, lifting its cumulative repurchases past 163,000 since the programme began in August.
APS Bank has pushed its share buy-back programme past another milestone, repurchasing 32,117 ordinary shares on the Malta Stock Exchange during the week ended 18 September 2026.
The bank bought 9,500 shares at €0.60 each on 14 September, followed by 12,200 shares at €0.59 on 16 September. A further 10,417 shares changed hands at €0.58 on 18 September. No purchases were recorded on 15 or 17 September.
The latest tranche brings the cumulative total repurchased since the programme began on 10 August to 163,800 shares. APS confirmed that none of the shares acquired under the programme had been cancelled as at the reporting date.
ReAPS Asset Management Limited is managing the programme, with execution sub-delegated to Curmi & Partners Limited. The weekly disclosures give investors a running view of the number of shares bought and the prices paid.
The slight drift in the purchase price, from €0.60 to €0.58 over the week, points to a market where the bank is providing consistent demand rather than chasing volume. For existing shareholders, the buy-back is a signal that APS sees its own equity as an attractive use of capital.
The decision to keep the repurchased shares uncancelled, at least for now, also preserves flexibility. APS could hold them in treasury, reissue them later, or cancel them in future depending on how its capital position develops.
For a bank, buy-backs need to be balanced against regulatory capital requirements, so the pace of purchases will be watched closely by investors. The programme remains one of the more visible signals of how APS views its valuation on the local market.
